Never Forget Where You Came From

Never forget where you came from, Beachbody Coach Motivation, Becoming an Entrepreneur, Becoming a Digital Nomad, Beachbody Coach Success, Filipino Beachbody Coach, Filipino Digital Nomad

As I am sitting in my typical coworking space where I do most of my work here in the Philippines, awaiting for my Gopro equipment to finish updating on the newest software, I was just thinking about how I came to this point in my life.

How did a skinny, shy and not so bright person who was a "momma's boy" end up traveling around the world while running a small internet business? I was an extreme introvert, never really made a lot of close friends, and hated being in the pubic eye. I didn't do very well in school, and was always and still terrified of public speaking.

How did I get here?

I have no idea! My mom has told me many times that` when I was a little kid, I was always talking about traveling around the world and owning my own business. I think it stemmed from reading and collecting old National Geographic magazines at an early age. I was always fascinated by different cultures and people and exploring new places, pretty odd for being such an extreme introvert. I was also exposed to entrepreneurship at an early age by my father. Although he was in the Navy, my Dad always had a gig on the side to make extra money. When he was still in the military, he started a food concession business on the weekends where he simply towed a trailer and sold oriental food at fairs, music festivals, and flea markets. His business grew and he began to travel all over the USA selling food. His food concession business was so successful that` he was able to open up several restaurants as well as a catering company. I witnessed all of his hard work and dedication at an early age, and I was also voluntarily involved in the family business which at the time I didn't enjoy. But all of those years with my father has taught me about work ethic and the drive to BE MY OWN BOSS.

I didn't go to school for business, I studied Hotel Restaurant Management, and even did a culinary apprenticeship at Walt Disney World and became a Chef at the prestigious 5 Star Restaurant Victoria & Alberts. I learned so much about world cuisine while I was there, and even had the opportunity to cook for several famous celebrities.

Through the years, I went from job to job, but mostly stayed in the hospitality industry. I dabbled with all kinds of ways to earn extra income from day trading, starting an online casino, having a nightlife marketing business, travel business, and I even did Amway!

The first time that` I traveled abroad was I believe in 2001 or 2002, I can't remember, but I traveled to 5 european countries in 30 days, I was hooked! From that`point on, I made a goal for myself that I would somehow find a way to have a business that`would allow me to travel around the world. It took many many years, a failed marriage, lost financial and time investments, many more jobs, and a lifestyle change, but I was finally able to make it happen. In 2012, I was able to retire from 3 of my jobs, and be my own boss. My dream finally came true, it only took over 16 years!!! =)

Am i successful? I think so, but success to me in terms of financial wealth has changed through the years, I guess I've learned a lot. I have learned that it really isn't how much you make, but more about how much you save. I don't consider myself financially wealthy, I guess you can say that I am rich in happiness.

Over 3 years ago I became a minimalist. In the beginning, I did it to save money and to be honest, I just started selling things off because I needed the money to pay my bills. But it was through that experience that found that it wasn't about how many material things that`you accumulate, it was about the experience. It brought me back to my backpacking trip that did in 2002, I learned how to stretch my money for 30 days, and how to have `fun without spending a lot of money. So today, I have gained so much more knowledge about how to travel around the world and gain experiences with a shoestring budget. When people say it takes money to travel the world, I say "yes it does". I believe that if it's important to you, you will make a point to travel. And when you do, I promise you that you will gain many fun and educational experiences. I challenge you to travel for 30 days, I challenge you to go to a place you've never been, I challenge you to travel solo, I challenge you to do it now.

It's like when people say, when you have a flat tire what do you do? Well, you get it fixed, because without your car, how can you go to work and pay your bills. When something happens in your life, we are programmed to solve it and move on, that's what`humans do. So if you leave and travel for 30 days, I promise you that you will survive. But not even that, you will learn so much about yourself, and what's so bad about that?

I've never forgotten where I came from, and that has inspired me to continue my path. I don't know what your goals are,I don't know what's going on in your life right now, but all I do know is that that's not that`important, because five years from now you will understand and be glad that you had the determination to do something great, and to do it for you! :).

How The Yee Peng Festival (Lantern Festival) Relates to Your Beachbody Business

Beachbody Coach Success, Beachbody Coach Travel, Digital Nomad, Beachbody Asia, Beachbody International, Beachbody Coach Life, Fitness Entrepreneur, Filipino Beachbody Coach

Let me first tell you a short story when I was traveling through Thailand a couple years ago. Starting my Southeast Asia Trip in the Philippines, I didn't have an agenda at all. Years ago, I was the type of person who would plan everything before I left, accommodations and tours, the whole nine yards. These days, it's all about going with the flow and just enjoying life how it is thrown at me.

I arrived in the Philippines on September 2014 and traveled all over my parent's home country (I'm filipino), Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia. Like I said, I didn't have a plan. All I wanted to do was relax and enjoy. I didn't even have a return ticket to go back home.

When I arrived in Thailand around the end of August 2014, I was excited to explore the mountains and witness indigenous village life with no plans to even visit the popular Thai Beaches. I spent some time in Bangkok, but I was ready to see the real Thailand, and just get away from the big metropolitan city. I headed to Chiang Mai because I heard that there was some good mountain biking and off the beaten path activities which I enjoy the most.

Check out my Southeast Asia Travel Montage Video - 2014

As soon as I arrived in Chiang Mai, I checked into my guesthouse, and the host asked me if I was going to the Lantern Festival? Feeling a bit embarrassed because I didn't really know what was going on (remember, I was just going by the flow) I said, "sure, why not, what's it all about?"

The host at the guesthouse told me that it's a tradition that happens every year where people release a lantern in the sky to let go of illnesses and misfortunes from the previous year, and the time to "make a wish" to hopefully have a much better year. The only way for your wish to come true is if you do good deeds the following year, that's the catch!

This kinda reminded me of what I, and thousands of other Beachbody Coaches do with their businesses. The annual Coach Summit for Beachbody Coaches, is like the Lantern Festival for the Thai community.

Just like the host mentioned, the wish that you make will not come true unless good deeds are performed. Just like anything in life with new years resolutions, and specifically my business with Beachbody, success with Beachbody Coaching will not happen unless we do good deeds by helping others reach their goals. It isn't just about the goals that we set out for ourselves, it's about the other 50%....other people.

I was just on a Leadership Call last night, and the host on the call reminded me of just that, Leadership is based on 50% of my goals, and the other 50% of the sum of the people and leaders that I help. For me, that's so powerful, and such a great reminder.

So I ask this question to all of you: Are you doing your good deeds this year for your goals to become a reality? When you release your Lantern at the next Coach Summit, will you have made an impact the previous year?

Whether you are a Beachbody Coach or not, I encourage you to set goals, and help people along the way. It's not about putting everyone else before you, it's about creating a give and take with the people who matter most. When push comes to shove, it is all about creating real relationships that last a lifetime. Who wants to hike up the DOI INTHANON (the highest mountain in Thailand) by themselves? It's lonely at the top, why not bring some friends with you! =)

10 Things That Require Zero Talent - #Hustle

Beachbody Coach Tips, Entrepreneur Tips, Become a Beachbody Coach, Become an Entrepreneur, 10 Things That Require Zero Talent, Entrepreneur Basics
10 Things That Require Zero Talent for Entrepreneurs, Employees, and Digital Nomads

Whether you are an Entrepreneur or Employee or whatever, these are 10 things that require zero talent. I think that we all forget the things that we are born with, our natural talents that do not require a "Harvard Education" or any schooling, just plain human grit and hustle.

As an Entrepreneur and Beachbody Coach, I can tell you first hand how easy it is to forget about our own natural talents, and just get lazy.

Be careful when you choose your friends. Be careful who you surround yourself with. Be careful not to get too comfortable.

Sometimes when you feel that your life is miserable, that's when you are changing. It sounds weird right? But it't true! When you are on your own, it's all about survival, and making the right decisions. Once you begin to think outside of the box, you begin to unlock those natural talents that you once had.

Here's a quick reminder of the things that require ZERO TALENT. Now go out there and create your future! =)

My Favorite Gary Vee Quotes

Do you ever have those days when you just don't want to do anything? I have that more than I would like to admit, so when that happens, I pretty much need a BUTT-KICKING from one of my favorite Social Media Entrepreneurs "Gary Vaynerchuk". He's one of those guys that you wish you had on your ass all the time to keep you in check.

When I start slacking with my online fitness business, I start watching his youtube videos and start listening to his podcasts, and guess what? I start getting into WORK MODE!

For All The Haters
This video PUMPS ME UP every single time!

So with this blog post, I wanted to create a place to where I can go and see my favorite Gary Vee quotes. It's kinda a lazy post, but something that I know that will help me during my tough days, and hope it helps you as well.

Just as a warning, if you do not like profanity, some of these quotes may offend you. Gary Vee is known for his direct approach and uses language that may be offensive, but if you can look beyond that, Mr. Gary Vee means well. Let's face it, he knows what he's doing.
