TOP 10 Benefits Having Network Marketing in Your Life

If you would've told me growing up that my primary business and my venture calling would be in Network Marketing, I would probably tell you that you were out of your mind. I mean, who wants to sell things and recruit family and friends into a scam right?

I WAS SO MISINFORMED

Just like the majority of us, I was lied too (millions of times), and was led to believe that the business of Network Marketing was bad news, and only the people at the top were successful. I was told so many lies from people who were either clueless about the industry, or "dabbled" in the business and never took it seriously, or got burned from a fly by night company.

AND THEN I DID MY OWN RESEARCH

It wasn't until I did my own research that I found this business to be a multi-billion dollar industry. Like anything, it's all about getting educated and learning about how something can benefit you and your family. My first MLM that I was involved with was Amway. And although I have nothing but great things to say about the company, I was just never passionate about selling soap. The business plan made total sense, but getting people healthy and fit was more of what I wanted to do, and so I became an affiliate with the biggest and the best health and fitness company around, and I am still with them until this day.

And so it's all about choosing the right company for you. Keep in mind that if you choose a company based on their compensation plan and car plan (which I really despise), than you will most likely be disappointed. I highly recommend that you join a company where you are using the products because they have helped you, or are helping you....not because you can get a good commission on it. If you do the latter, than that just makes you out to be "that guy", the salesman. And no one wants any part of that. If you believe in what you do, it will happen organically. 

LET'S MOVE ON

So I've been in Network Marketing for 9 years now, 6 years with my current primary company which is Beachbody, and I cannot tell you how much freedom I have to do what I want. If I can just take some of you with me all over the world and experience what type of lifestyle that I have, I'm sure that it would open your eyes to a different world. Oh, and I know that travel is not for everyone, but just imagine what you love, then now envision doing that without anyone else telling you when or how to do it. Imagine spending as much time with your family as you want, not because your boss says you can, I mean....who are they to tell you how to run and live your life right? Oh and if you love your job, that's fantastic, but imagine now being able to do it when you want to, not because you have to. Yeah, I am totally honest with experience, but Network Marketing is truly the best business in the world. But you just have to believe that you can do it, and forget about the haters that will knock you. What do they know? Do they pay your bills? Nope, so go for it! 

One last thing on this topic, I am just as normal as all of you. I still struggle with life. I am not what people call "money bags", but Network Marketing has given me a better life. It's not about making millions, but if you play your cards right, whether you like it or not, millions may come your way. And what would I do with millions you ask? Here are the TOP 10 Benefits of Having Network Marketing in Your Life:

1.  Low Risk - This one is pretty easy to understand. Only 2-5% of the general population have the ability to invest half a million and up for a successful franchise like McDonalds etc. Not that this is a good example, but its true. With Network Marketing, you only risk is your time and the money that you spend familiarizing yourself with your own products. By spending roughly around $200 per month with your products and online marketing campaigns, your business can eventually grow to an income which most can only be attained by investing millions, or having a college education (and academics doesn't even promise you a bright future) Oh also, if you think that you can get involved with Network Marketing without investing any money, then you're missing the point. It's still a business, marketing on your own without the leverage of marketing dollars will leave you in the hole with the rest of the Network Marketing failure stories. If you treat your business like a business, it will be a business. 

2.  Huge Demand for High Quality Products - Do you know what the difference between a Rolls Royce and a Chrysler? A LOT!!! You will always find products that cost less, but keep in mind that the value goes down as well. You get what you pay for! I've had a number of people who tell me that my Shakeology is way too expensive, and I'm like, "compared to what?". Know what you have, and know the benefits, but also know that you don't have to be an expert, the truth will be shown with your results both physically and financially. 

3.  Residual Income - Do you earn while you are asleep? What about this....does your income grow significantly when you get back from vacation? If not, it's time to learn more about residual income =). To learn more about residual income, one must learn about delayed gratification. 

4.  No Cap on Income Potential - How many of you out there have capped out on your salary? What about traditional business owners out there, when you leave, are you earning more revenue? With Network Marketing "done right", you will never receive a cap. If you work hard consistently, just like athletics, you will eventually hit the podium. When there is unlimited income potential imagine how your thinking of life would change. We all think and make choices based on our income, now imagine that income is not an issue, how far would you take your life? Yup, pretty exciting right!

5.  Virtually No Employees - There are many people in this industry who earn 6 and 7 figures with no employees, it's definitely possible. Once you begin to earn some decent income, it may be a good idea to hire a part time assistant though. I've found that when you hire someone to do the small things (which are still important), it can help you become more productive with the more important things such as prospecting: one on one, online campaigns, and training sessions with your leaders etc. 

6.  No Inventory - Although there are still companies out there who require you to have inventory, it's really a thing of the past these days. Most companies, especially my affiliate company does all the shipping for me all over the world with just a click of a button. 

7.  Low Overhead - This is not a bricks and mortar type of business. With Network Marketing, you already save thousands of dollars by not having to rent office space. You can conveniently run your business from a smartphone or laptop. The only overhead is product use which isn't really considered overhead, and whatever marketing campaigns that you have within your budget. Remember, in any business it will take an investment, big or small, depends on your goals. There is training for all of this, but again, technology makes having an online business very, very cost effective. You can literally spend $500 per month on your business and get the same return if not more versus spending millions with a franchise. All income figures are based on your performance. 

8.  Leverage with Passive Income - One of my favorite quotes by Jim Rohn, he says, "I work full time at my job, and part time for my fortune". Leveraging your income with something on the side is crucial if you want to stay ahead. Eventually, your part time Network Marketing business will surpass your full time job, that's the idea. I've done this along with hundreds of my friends on my team. You are the average of the 5 people that you surround yourself with, so hanging around people who will keep you accountable will speed up the process of your success!

9.  Global and Portability - As mentioned above, there is no limits to where you can work your Network Marketing business. For most companies, you can work anywhere around the world as long as you have an internet connection or smartphone. Now how's that for freedom? No cubicle, and you can wear whatever you want =)  

10.  Anything is Possible with Freedom - Money doesn't buy freedom, I am a believer in that. It's all about GENUINELY helping people get what they want, so eventually you can get what you deserve. If you focus on materialism, you will be disappointed. I encourage you to find a company or product  that you believe in, and then focus on truly helping people. I promise that when you do that, anything is possible!

Top 5 Reasons Why People Dislike Network Marketers

The whole truth and nothing but the truth

This is definitely not normally the type of posts that I enjoy writing about, but I thought that I would kinda share my take on the whole thing. For me, I totally understand each side of the coin, and being a full time online networking business owner, and being on both sides, I hope to shed some light and help people better understand more about this hot topic.

For starters, I am a full time Online Beachbody Coach, and I can only speak from my experience, no one else. The things that my team and I do may slightly "to" drastically differ from what other teams, companies, and organizations do otherwise. So take it for what it's worth =).

Top 5 Reasons Why People Dislike Network Marketers:

1.  TACKY SALESMAN STEREOTYPE - We all have been in conversations where you feel that the person that you are chatting with has some sort of hidden agenda. No one likes to be sold, but everyone wants to make a living. I despise sales people, but I've come to an understanding that I can choose to either listen, or simply be polite and let them know that I am not interested. For the person selling, let's maybe brush up on our relationship and people skills instead of trying to sell people the moment you meet them. And for the people on the other end, let's give these people an opportunity to become better at what they do, and if you have time, listen to them and even maybe encourage them. We live in a world where there is way too much hate, but we can all change that by simply listening and encouraging.

2.  ANNOYING FACEBOOK POSTS - Yes, I see this all the time! People always posting about their products, deals, and testimonies. For the most part, most of the products and services are great, it's just all about how the products are presented. For the people who are in the network marketing industry....please remember this: people don't care about what you know or what you're selling unless they know a little bit about you and how much you care. If you are in the networking business, I encourage you to try to naturally share how much the product/s has made a difference in your life (which means you have to be proof that the products work) and REALLY eliminate all the cheesy sales tactics of posting photos of your products just to make a buck, I'm sure it isn't working. And for the people on the other end, understand that this is one of the only industries that allow everyday people to really find success as a entrepreneur. There is a reason why loads of people from the corporate world gravitate towards network marketing, it's because it's a great way to create real wealth and freedom, granted that you aren't lazy and you put in the work.

When you see some cheesy sales behavior, just know that these people are most likely new in the industry, and they need time to grow. Don't be a hater, be a motivator! If you get tired of seeing all the posts, then it's your choice to un-friend them on Facebook. Just be nice =)

3.  THAT'S ALL THEY TALK ABOUT - If you're a network marketer, don't be that guy! The guy that constantly talks about what he has, how much money he makes, and how he can help you make millions! That's a crock, and you know it. The only way that you will get people to listen to you is if you first listen to them. No one cares about your fancy cars and fancy outfits! People relate to real people who understand real life struggles, not easy money. If you are in the networking business, then I encourage you to attend all the training sessions that you can, because talking and bragging about YOU is a surefire way to be UNSUCCESSFUL. If you're on the other end, and you come across someone like this, then just be happy that they are excited about what they are doing. Present a big smile =). You may not be at all interested, but it will say a lot about you if you show people in general that no matter what they do, you are happy for them as long as they are happy.

4.  THEY CLAIM TO BE THE BEST - Let's face it, no one will ever be the best...FOREVER. There are a lot of great products and services out there, so claiming that your product is the best is selfish and biased. As a network marketing professional, it's all about finding out what people want and helping them learn how your product can help them. Get rid of all the upfront mumbo jumbo about why they should do this or take that, and start making it about them first. When you help people learn how it can benefit them in the best way possible, then you've done your job. If you are in the networking field, just know that your products and services will not be for everyone, and that's ok =). It's about creating the BEST experience. People will always remember how they were treated!

If you are on the other end, I would simply ask this person who is trying to share their product or service with you how they think it would benefit you, and how it has made an impact in their life. It's a way start to a great conversation, and even if you don't buy anything, it may lead to a new friendship, and that's really what it's all about......creating relationships and life experiences.

5.  NON-PROFESSIONAL - Everything that is annoying about what Network Marketers do is based on them being a professional or an amateur. When we all start something such as a hobby, career, etc. we always start from square one. It's the part that we all hate to do because it is so tedious and HARD! But this is how we all grow to become what we will one day become, a PRO at becoming a success in our own life. If you are a network marketer, I encourage you to keep on truckin and learning from the people who have made it before you, because trust me, they will help you. That's the most amazing thing about the MLM business, it's really about people helping people. Get rid of the toxic people who don't support you, and focus on the people who do. You are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with, so if you want success, be picky who you hang out with, it will make a huge difference!

If you're on the other end, then I encourage you respect people just like you would like to be respected. You don't have to buy products, you don't have to read annoying Facebook posts, you don't have to do anything, but be super nice, smile and have an incredible day =).

Personal Development is OVERRATED!

That's what I used to think! 

As a child growing up, I was always very shy and introverted. I was the guy in the back of the room analyzing everyone else, and doing everything in my power to not be in the spotlight. I hid from my teachers and hated talking to people. I remember taking "zeros" on class assignments only because I did not want to go up in front of the whole class for a presentation. I lived my life that way for what seemed like a million years!! Don't get me wrong, I had a fun childhood, and I had some great friends, but it always took me awhile to make them, and get comfortable in my own skin with them.

I was like this all they way through my college classes. You would think that by the time I was in college that I would've come out of my shell already, but nope.....I sure didn't. I started to realize that maybe this was just the type of person that I was, and there was no hope for me.

Fast-forward to when I got married a few years later, I got involved with a very established Network Marketing Company. This company had been around for years, and what I was told is that they were the PIONEERS of the industry. This is what happened: One day I was visiting my parents in Pensacola (I was living in Tampa) and my parents had a little get together at their place and I noticed some guy in my parent's living room drawing on this white board. I'm like "who the heck is this guy?", but I just continued to listen. I said to myself that I could never do that, and talk to people about an opportunity, but I liked what he was talking about because it just made sense. My wife (now ex-wife, but such an awesome person, and a great mother) and I at the time decided to get involved with the business. It was so funny because I had my wife do all the presentations, and I acted like her secretary, yeah.....I was a wussy LOL! Then one day, one of my upline leaders confronted me and asked me who the man of the house was, and I felt a little offended by that, but at the same time, it made me realize that I was still hiding like I did when I was a little kid. I have not grown up.

It's always been a Family Business

After the conversation with my business upline coach, he introduced me to PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, and he told me about the "Book of the Month" program that our team had set up. He recommended that I start there. To make the long story short, I started doing presentations less than 2 months after I started reading the books that he recommended. It was like a game changer for me. I was only with that company for about 3-4 years, and within that time-frame, I had gained so much confidence in myself and was finally getting out of my shell.

When things start looking good, something always has to happen. Another obstacle just tries to slow you down. I started going through some job changes, and then had a failed marriage. I ended up quitting Network Marketing to focus on getting my life back, and then started losing my self confidence again. It took me many years to get my feet back on the ground. I dabbled in a lot of money making schemes, made lots of money in the night life business, and had some bad relationships. I just simply lost myself.

Then one day I decided to do something with my life after years of depression and poor daily habits. My brother introduced me to P90X, and I got totally ripped and became a Beachbody Coach to help others with their goals. I didn't know at the time that Beachbody was a Network Marketing Company. I was shocked, but at the same time, I was glad because my experience with the prior company a few years back was a great experience. All I can remember was the positive energy that made an impact on me. I remember how awesome it was to be around like-minded, and goal oriented people. It was like family, and I just missed it.

As I started Beachbody Coaching, I thought to myself.....well, I don't need to read books, I know how the programs work, I'll just show people what I did, and they will follow. WRONG! =) I totally forgot about how everyone you meet has different personalities. In order for me to learn how to coach people, I had to learn about people. It wasn't about me, it wasn't about my system, it wasn't about my success......IT WAS ABOUT THEM. In order for me to become successful as a Coach, a leader, a father, a business man, I had to learn how to deal with people. This is always something that I struggled with growing up.

The one thing that I really loved about Beachbody is their products, and what they stood for. It's about living a healthy and fit lifestyle. We are not selling soap, coffee, or jewelry.....we're selling a "lifestyle". In most Network Marketing Companies, it's about selling things, products etc. And with most companies, you do not find success until you are already earning a good income. With Beachbody, it's totally different. The company and the coaches around you teach you how to become successful with your life and be happy with that. It's not about the money, it's about the changes that you make within yourself, it's about the process. I am in the "Life-Changing" business. We help people change their lives, and we get paid. It's not about selling soap, and still eating french fries in between meetings! Now I'm not saying that we are the only life-changing business out there, all I'm saying is that in this business, you will be successful even before you become successful, and there aren't too many companies that can do that for you.

So here I am coaching people and wondering why my business was not growing. It's because I was not focused on growing LEADERS. I was just focused on helping people lose weight and become better athletes, and I failed to show them how they can be fit and healthy and earn a living by doing that. I needed to educate myself again. So I went to my Coach for advice, and the first thing she asked me was "so which Personal Development book are you reading?" And I said, here we go again with this Personal Development BS =). But I remembered what my upline coach said many years ago that fired me up, he asked me "who is the man of the house Arnel?" And that's all I needed to hear again.

We all go through struggles, we all go through rejection, and the only way that we can get out of those situations is by helping ourselves. No one can do this for us, but ourselves! Personal Development has changed my life, my business, and I know that it can for you too. Whatever you are doing with your life, you have total control. There are a plethora of tools out there that can help you accomplish big things in life. If your goals and dreams are huge, and you are totally committed to them, but you don't know how to get there, here's my little piece of advice.....ask yourself this question: "what Personal Development book are you reading?"
