Being a Beachbody Coach in the Philippines

So I've been wanting to post a blog about this for the longest time. But first and foremost, let me just say that for those of you who have been reading my blogs for the past few years, I thank you for bearing with my non-professional writing. I am by no means an expert writer, nor do I claim to be =) The purpose for maintaining this blog is to help me for a number of reasons:

-  To help my family stay in touch with me
-  To help my customers and business partners seek information that may help benefit them in health/fitness, travel, and entrepreneurship
-  To keep me busy doing what I love

Now that we got that out of the way, let the bad blogging skills shine ha ha!

I officially moved to the Philippines in January 2019, but I have been traveling consistently for I would say at least 4-5 years. During that time, and most people do not know this, but I did not have a lot of income while I was traveling. And I know what you're thinking, well don't you need a lot of money to travel with? To be honest, you really don't if you do your research and do things on your own without third party assistance. Thanks to my online Beachbody Business, this is what kept me going for the past 5 years of traveling.

I've been an Online Beachbody Coach for about 9 years now. And for those of you who are not familiar with what I do, or at least one of the things that I do, well let me tell you briefly what it is I do as an Online Beachbody Coach. For starters, I AM NOT A PERSONAL TRAINER, and more importantly...I AM NOT A SALESMAN.  In a nutshell, I have a small internet company where I market the products of a company based in Santa Monica, California, and this company is called Beachbody. My business is separate from them, and I am not an employee, I am considered an Independent Contractor, and I have a private corporation. I am authorized to market their products which I've been using for the past 10 years, so just FYI, I am not selling something just to make money. I am sharing the products that I love because they worked for me, and that has helped me decide to help others who are in need of accountability and advice based on my experience through the years. I currently have thousands of customers (currently 2,600+) from the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, UK and even international. Although the market for Beachbody Products is not available outside of those territories yet, I have been coaching people without borders through the programs for many years for free, this just shows you that it's not all about money for me, and why my passion for this has helped me create income to travel and now live here in the Philippines.

Another side to being a Beachbody Coach is that they offer a networking structure, yes....like Network Marketing as you will. Most people have no idea about how lucrative this industry can be. All they hear are the negatives of Network Marketing because of mainstream media, and others who have failed and talk trash about it. Well, I cannot speak for the media or the people who have failed in the business, but what I can tell you is that I am living proof that you can actually live a life based on this kind of business. I am not even one of the top leaders in the field, and that wasn't ever my goal. I didn't ever think that this would even become a full time income for me, it just happened organically because of all the people I helped from my experience. I currently have an organization of over 20,000+ people, and haven't had a job in at least 6-7 years. This small online beachbody business has also opened doors for me to work on other projects like a small web-based media outfit focused on obstacle course racing, and just recently started getting in the business of Cryptocurrency and trading. So I would say that there are so many more advantages to this line of work if people would just be open to what this really is, and are strong enough to handle the negativity. I've always said this, people can say all they want about what I do, but I am the only one responsible for feeding my family. To be honest, the people who were so negative in the beginning, are now my customers, and some are even my business partners, go figure.

So enough about that, how has it been living in the Philippines as a Beachbody Coach. As you know, the Beachbody market isn't even open here in Asia, so how do I stay active? Well, there are many challenges, so let me tell you what has been the biggest challenges for me, and then I will go into the pros of running an online beachbody business here in the Philippines.

The CONS (Challenges):

-  TIME ZONE, I am basically one day ahead here, and when it is daytime and normal office hours here, most of my business partners and customers are passed out asleep. So what does this mean? In order for me to communicate with my associates, sometimes I lose a lot of sleep because I end up working all night here.
-  EVENTS, most of the events are in the territories that Beachbody is in the market for such as the USA, UK, Canada etc. So yes I can travel and attend these events, but If I were to attend all of them, it would take a big chunk of my income which I could be spending on online marketing campaigns etc. Not only the fact that it would be costly, I would be a long ways from my new family here in the Philippines. So to counter attack this, I have been doing a lot of video calls and meet ups, as well as online group workouts with my team. That's one benefit of living in the digital age, one doesn't have to be somewhere physically to get all the information, but of course nothing beats the social aspect of any business. Human interaction is important, no matter if its an online business or not, humans need to be around humans, especially the ones who are forward thinkers like the people in this business.
-  TEAM, just like the events, I am away from most of my coach team, and although video calls are a good way to stay in touch, nothing beats that personal one on one interaction. Online team building is just not as good as team building off line.
-  INTERNET, the wifi in the Philippines is probably the worst in all of Asia, but to ensure that you have good connections, it's best to stay near Manila as anywhere else the connection is very poor, if there is any connection at all.

The PROS:

-  EXPENSES are super low. This is a great place to start and maintain an online business because your money goes a long way especially if you have an internet business from the USA, Europe, Singapore wherever the currency is much higher.
-  TROPICAL, it is absolutely beautiful here, and so many things to see. The Philippines is a great place to live because you are so close to all the other Asian countries. Working here is like you're on vacation everyday!
-  MARKET, although Beachbody is not technically here yet, there are tons of people here who are into health and fitness. It's a great way to start helping people and doing the workouts with them. Eventually Beachbody will open market here, and you may already have customers and business associates just for being a product of the product, and sharing how amazing these workouts are.
-  OUTSOURCING, as a loyal user of the website Fivver, I am a true believer in outsourcing work so that I can be more productive in what I do. There are a lot of people you can meet who are experts in the online world, so outsourcing to the locals here is a great benefit, and it's super cheap too!
-  COWORKING, just like other parts of Asia, the Philippines has their own coworking spaces and communities. Although I would much rather work from home and be close to my family, I sometimes prefer working at a coworking space because some of these places have super fast internet. Not only is their lightning fast internet, you can also network with other online entrepreneurs from all over the world and talk about business ideas. It's a great place to learn more about the Digital Nomad life, and how to connect and learn from the people who are traveling and working for a living.

So I know that this post can also benefit anyone who has an online business, I just wanted to share the pros and cons about what I do as an online beachbody coach, and running an online marketing business. The Philippines is an amazing place which is why I decided to set up base camp here indefinitely and start a new family here. It may be a good place for you, or it may not be, but I absolutely love it. I do tend to miss my family back home in the states, especially my daughter in Florida, but that's the cool thing about having an online business, you can always pick up and go as you please, and that's what I love the most.

-  People who understand or are willing to understand the power of Network Marketing
- People who want to create PASSIVE INCOME, and earn while they sleep
-  People who have a knack for helping others!

Of course anyone can do well in this business if they are willing to do the work, and stay consistent, but I just wanted to share what I've seen in the years that I've been in this business. Work Spaces While You Travel

This is a pretty important topic for me since I find myself traveling a lot for my OCRTUBE media project. But in order for me to continue supporting my project, I also have to continue working my online fitness business. Having an online business has it's benefits, but it can also be challenging when it comes to having a set work schedule, there' no such thing, at least for me.

Just to back up a bit, I travel about 7 months out of the year filming obstacle course races. And most people do not know this, but I do this for free! To support my cause-related media project, I rely on my online fitness business to fund my project. Yes, my current online Beachbody Coaching business is basically the financial backing for my ocr media project. The goal for my ocr media project is to help the sport of obstacle racing grow globally, while raising awareness for some of my favorite charities. Everyone has a way that they would like to give back, so this is my good deed for the sport that I am passionate about, and it also supports the causes that I truly love.

BACK TO THE TOPIC

So since I am traveling all the time, the most challenging part is finding the time and space to work online. Traveling in 3rd world countries are the most challenging since WIFI is not always available.

I find myself working in these types of places the most:
-  Coffee Shops
-  Work Spaces
-  Hotels, Hostels, Airbnb's
-  Airports

For me, atmosphere is everything. I do enjoy working in coffee shops the most. Although work spaces have better internet, some of these places do not have the social interaction that I enjoy. I sometimes take breaks and get all caught up chatting with other digital entrepreneurs about what they do, and get tips on other work space travel locations.

Airports, although convenient, is my least favorite place to work. When I am in between flights or have long layovers, I try to be productive with my time, but it always makes me feel rushed knowing that I only have a limited time. Airports just feel very, very hectic to me, and I do not like the feeling that way =). I also dislike it when I am working on an online project, and it's time to board the plane and I'm right in the middle of something big! Un-finished business is just one of my pet peeves, anyone else feel this way?

Working at hotels, hostels, and airbnb's can be very relaxing, but I find that the internet is not as consistent. Hotels are great, but they tend to be pricey. Hostels are cheap and a great way to meet other travelers, and although most of the time they have decent internet, these places can get pretty rowdy at times. Airbnb's are good for your wallet. I tend to book airbnb accommodations when I want to be anti-social, yeah....I get like that a lot especially if I know that I have a lot of work to do.  Airbnb's can be a great place to work, but the WIFI can be inconsistent and far away from things like markets and sight-seeing adventures. Whenever I book an Airbnb, I always ask about their internet, but it's not always working when I get there. =)

WORK SCHEDULE

I try to keep things simple. I do have somewhat of a schedule that I try to follow, but it doesn't always work as planned, in fact, it never does. When you travel all the time, there is no set day when you are arriving and departing. I do a lot of last minute travel, so that makes things even more difficult for me. Here's what a general work schedule looks for me:

- Film and edit obstacle race videos on the weekends
- Complete video editing on Mondays (that is if I only have one video project, if I have two or more, video editing can go well into wednesdays and even thursdays, which I try my best not to do)
- Work my Online Beachbody Business from Tuesday to Friday (this is a huge priority because this is currently my primary income)

So I know that my above schedule is very broad, but setting days to work on my OCRTUBE project and my Beachbody Business is very important. BALANCE is key =).

For someone who's office is their backpack, it can be daunting at times. Some people think that it's a dream come true to wake up in a different place almost every week, and trust me, I'm not at all complaining, but it can take some time to get used to. It's definitely not for everyone, and you can easily be UN-productive, but the one thing that I always have to remember is that if I don't work, I will not be able to travel and help people change lives, and that's the whole reason why I do what I do =).

People who really do not understand what Beachbody Coaches do, they are adamant that we are just straight up sales people, which to be completely honest, that's only a small part of the truth, but definitely not the BIG PICTURE. We are not selling material items like soap, jewelry, gadgets, illegal chain letters, and magic pills. We are selling a lifestyle...a way of life, an experience that can make an impact around the world. Trust me, this is no small feat, and it can only happen with creating real life relationships.

Professional Beachbody Coaches have experienced multiple failures and rejection, and have learned from their mistakes. The Pros continue to stay educated, never getting too comfortable. Remember this: The day that you stop learning is the day that you stop growing.

Amateur Beachbody Coaches continue to try to reinvent the wheel, and they don't understand the importance of personal and professional development. Ask any successful entrepreneur out there, and I guarantee you that they are all reading books, and attending events to keep them sharp in their field. Amateurs are not teachable, and think that they know it all (do you know anyone like this?) When you see those annoying facebook posts, you're probably witnessing an amateur at work. Through time, amateurs will become better and better, that is if they don't quit. The ones who quit are the ones who probably got frustrated trying to create systems that don't work, when all they needed to do was plug into a proven system passed down from other professionals who have gone before them, hence why some people make it, and some people don't.

THE TRUTH IN BEACHBODY COACHING

Only the strong survive. What does this mean? The life of an entrepreneur is tough, it's definitely not for everyone. This "success mogul" movement really WEEDS OUT the fake people from the ones who really have passion for what they do.

ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS

The ones who are money hungry and are not focused on making the world a better place, or creating real relationships will ultimately FAIL. Yes, there will be some fly-by-night success, but it will NEVER last.  If you want to become a successful Beachbody Coach, it's not about the money....it's about truly helping the people who need and want it.

TOP 10 Benefits Having Network Marketing in Your Life

If you would've told me growing up that my primary business and my venture calling would be in Network Marketing, I would probably tell you that you were out of your mind. I mean, who wants to sell things and recruit family and friends into a scam right?

I WAS SO MISINFORMED

Just like the majority of us, I was lied too (millions of times), and was led to believe that the business of Network Marketing was bad news, and only the people at the top were successful. I was told so many lies from people who were either clueless about the industry, or "dabbled" in the business and never took it seriously, or got burned from a fly by night company.

AND THEN I DID MY OWN RESEARCH

It wasn't until I did my own research that I found this business to be a multi-billion dollar industry. Like anything, it's all about getting educated and learning about how something can benefit you and your family. My first MLM that I was involved with was Amway. And although I have nothing but great things to say about the company, I was just never passionate about selling soap. The business plan made total sense, but getting people healthy and fit was more of what I wanted to do, and so I became an affiliate with the biggest and the best health and fitness company around, and I am still with them until this day.

YOU CHOOSE YOUR SUCCESS

And so it's all about choosing the right company for you. Keep in mind that if you choose a company based on their compensation plan and car plan (which I really despise), than you will most likely be disappointed. I highly recommend that you join a company where you are using the products because they have helped you, or are helping you....not because you can get a good commission on it. If you do the latter, than that just makes you out to be "that guy", the salesman. And no one wants any part of that. If you believe in what you do, it will happen organically. 

LET'S MOVE ON

So I've been in Network Marketing for 9 years now, 6 years with my current primary company which is Beachbody, and I cannot tell you how much freedom I have to do what I want. If I can just take some of you with me all over the world and experience what type of lifestyle that I have, I'm sure that it would open your eyes to a different world. Oh, and I know that travel is not for everyone, but just imagine what you love, then now envision doing that without anyone else telling you when or how to do it. Imagine spending as much time with your family as you want, not because your boss says you can, I mean....who are they to tell you how to run and live your life right? Oh and if you love your job, that's fantastic, but imagine now being able to do it when you want to, not because you have to. Yeah, I am totally honest with experience, but Network Marketing is truly the best business in the world. But you just have to believe that you can do it, and forget about the haters that will knock you. What do they know? Do they pay your bills? Nope, so go for it! 

One last thing on this topic, I am just as normal as all of you. I still struggle with life. I am not what people call "money bags", but Network Marketing has given me a better life. It's not about making millions, but if you play your cards right, whether you like it or not, millions may come your way. And what would I do with millions you ask? Only 2-5% of the general population have the ability to invest half a million and up for a successful franchise like McDonalds etc. Not that this is a good example, but its true. It's still a business, marketing on your own without the leverage of marketing dollars will leave you in the hole with the rest of the Network Marketing failure stories. If you treat your business like a business, it will be a business. 

2.  Huge Demand for High Quality Products - Do you know what the difference between a Rolls Royce and a Chrysler? A LOT!!! You will always find products that cost less, but keep in mind that the value goes down as well. You get what you pay for! I've had a number of people who tell me that my Shakeology is way too expensive, and I'm like, "compared to what?". Know what you have, and know the benefits, but also know that you don't have to be an expert, the truth will be shown with your results both physically and financially. 

3.  Residual Income - Do you earn while you are asleep? What about this....does your income grow significantly when you get back from vacation? If not, it's time to learn more about residual income =). To learn more about residual income, one must learn about delayed gratification. 

4.  No Cap on Income Potential - How many of you out there have capped out on your salary? What about traditional business owners out there, when you leave, are you earning more revenue? With Network Marketing "done right", you will never receive a cap. If you work hard consistently, just like athletics, you will eventually hit the podium. When there is unlimited income potential imagine how your thinking of life would change. We all think and make choices based on our income, now imagine that income is not an issue, how far would you take your life? Yup, pretty exciting right!

5.  Virtually No Employees - There are many people in this industry who earn 6 and 7 figures with no employees, it's definitely possible. Once you begin to earn some decent income, it may be a good idea to hire a part time assistant though. I've found that when you hire someone to do the small things (which are still important), it can help you become more productive with the more important things such as prospecting: one on one, online campaigns, and training sessions with your leaders etc. 

6.  No Inventory - Although there are still companies out there who require you to have inventory, it's really a thing of the past these days. Most companies, especially my affiliate company does all the shipping for me all over the world with just a click of a button. 

7.  Low Overhead - This is not a bricks and mortar type of business. With Network Marketing, you already save thousands of dollars by not having to rent office space. You can conveniently run your business from a smartphone or laptop. The only overhead is product use which isn't really considered overhead, and whatever marketing campaigns that you have within your budget. Remember, in any business it will take an investment, big or small, depends on your goals. There is training for all of this, but again, technology makes having an online business very, very cost effective. You can literally spend $500 per month on your business and get the same return if not more versus spending millions with a franchise. All income figures are based on your performance. 

8.  Leverage with Passive Income - One of my favorite quotes by Jim Rohn, he says, "I work full time at my job, and part time for my fortune". Leveraging your income with something on the side is crucial if you want to stay ahead. Eventually, your part time Network Marketing business will surpass your full time job, that's the idea. I've done this along with hundreds of my friends on my team. You are the average of the 5 people that you surround yourself with, so hanging around people who will keep you accountable will speed up the process of your success!

9.  Global and Portability - As mentioned above, there is no limits to where you can work your Network Marketing business. For most companies, you can work anywhere around the world as long as you have an internet connection or smartphone. Now how's that for freedom? No cubicle, and you can wear whatever you want =)  

10.  Anything is Possible with Freedom - Money doesn't buy freedom, I am a believer in that. It's all about GENUINELY helping people get what they want, so eventually you can get what you deserve. If you focus on materialism, you will be disappointed. I encourage you to find a company or product  that you believe in, and then focus on truly helping people. I promise that when you do that, anything is possible!

Why Become a Beachbody Coach?

What's the big deal? 

Just to set the record straight, I wanted to let you know that this post is by no means focused on trying to "RECRUIT" everyone into the Beachbody Coach lifestyle. In fact, I'll be honest with you, I am pretty darn picky on who I would like on my coach team anyways, but if you're reading this, I'm sure that you are amazing =)

To build a successful online fitness empire, it takes the right people, with the right attitude, and the right vision. Those are the people who I find that I connect with on a personal and business stand point.
