My Take on the Covid-19 Outbreak, and Why I Give a Fcuk!

This is something that I have wanted to do for a few days now, but I really didn't want to post it directly on my social networks only because I am not one that likes or enjoys to call people out. This might be a RANT =)

Let's face it, everyone has something to say about what is going on. Everyone handles situations differently, and in their own special way. I am not here to knock on anyone, rather I would like to maybe share what I feel is important, or maybe just a quick and positive reminder to people who are "not" really affected, or feel that this is not a serious issue because their lives are not "affected", by this Corona Virus.

WHAT I SEE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Now I admit, when this started gaining attention globally, I didn't really understand what the effects would be. I did not know that my business, and my family life would be affected. I didn't know that my friends and family would lose their jobs. I didn't know that this pandemic would create a hostile environment in public areas where people are fighting over toilet paper. I didn't know that kids would be starving all over the world (not just in 3rd World Countries either) because of their parents not able to work. The list goes on.

I posted what I thought was a funny meme on facebook about some people doing foot shakes instead of hand shakes, but eventually took it down because I felt that it was not appropriate. Yes, it was funny, but in all reality, this whole situation is NOT funny.

I see people posting things about Corona Beer, videos about people fighting in grocery stores, racists remarks from uneducated people blaming others for this outbreak just because they are a different ethnicity, and all kind of things that in my opinion is not taking the situation seriously, disrespecting others in a way that people are suffering more and more. I do understand that maybe people are bored in their homes, and they are just scrolling on social media and posting things because they find that things are funny, but the reality again is.......remember, you are at home, you cannot work, you have no clue what can happen. It's like people just don't understand unless it is happening to them. Well let me say this, Covid-19 is a serious matter, and you could be next. Is it funny now?

For the people who are not affected by Covid-19, I just wanted to remind you that there are others who are, including myself. If people want to post funny and positive things, maybe post about how much fun you are having with your family because you never had this time in the past, maybe a positive quote to help people including the friends that you know who are struggling right now, maybe a good share on a movie that you just watched on Netflix, or maybe even a great workout that you just finished, INSTEAD of things that would make people feel like crap and remind them of their unfortunate situations. I mean if you want to post about Covid-19, how about posting something about what you are doing about helping the situation? Yeah, that sounds like a great idea!

Now I do not want to seem like I am talking negative about people, I merely want to help shed light on the truth. We just do not know what the outcome will be, and there are just too many people who are hurting because of this pandemic. If we can all just try to think about things before we post, maybe not just think about how funny "you" feel something is, but understand that it may hurt someone in the process. We are all human, and no one wants to be hurt, no one wants to struggle, no one want to starve. But it is happening, and it is happening fast all over the world!

Yes, I also know that if people or myself do not like what someone is posting, they can block or ignore them, and trust me, I highly recommend that, I have done that myself only because I do not need any negative in my life. But I also think that this is about respect for humanity. It's about having a heart for others who don't have it like you do. It's about GIVING a fcuk for once!

There are so many ways to help people during this crazy time!
Offering workouts online is one of them =)

For some of you who don't care about what is going on, that's fine, you are the exception right now, and more power to you. But if you have a little compassion, and would like to help others, why not share some GOOD VIBES that would benefit the human population. You have the power to do that, and all it takes is a couple keyboard taps, and boom....a positive message can be shared to thousands if not millions of people around the world who need something, "just something" that will hopefully get them through another day.

You see, I know that we all have hearts. I know that we all have some good in us. It is my suggestion that if we can share some non-Covid19 related posts on social media, and share how beautiful your family is, and what are some of the things that you plan to do once this all passes, I feel that it would bring more happiness for all of us.

Oh yeah, I understand that I am just one guy with my own opinions, so I don't expect anything from anyone. But I also know that we were put on this earth to be happy. Let's not forget that sharing happiness will bring more happiness to you and your family. I hope to see all of you again soon! =)
