Day 3, 4 - Week Seven | 22 Minute Hard Corps Challenge

The 22 Minute Hard Corps Workouts are challenging enough, let alone posting a video and blog of each workout, but I'm pretty happy that I'm almost done =) Just a little over one week left, and my Dad and I will have completed 60 days of this challenge.

What's next? Well, I think we are leaning more towards the 21 Day Fix Extreme Challenge. I've been missing some good ole classic weight-lifting, and although 21DFX is not classic lifting, it will involve a WEE_BIT more weights than 22 Minute Hard Corps, so that's good enough for me =) I will probably do a P90X3/Body Beast Hybrid Workout after 21 Day Fix Extreme, but we shall see!

I believe in bringing back the strong man mentality from the past,
technology has made us weak, it's time to #SpartanUp and 
live the active lifestyle that was once the norm.

Just a little summary on how I've been feeling on week 7. My core is definitely getting much stronger, and what I mean by that is I am able to complete more reps than usual without getting burned out or tired. Yesterday was a good example when I was doing Cardio 3 + Core 2. My accountability partner Steven complimented me and told me that he noticed my improvement in my core exercises, so that confirmed everything for me, other than what I've been feeling.

This past few days, I've been in Tampa visiting my daughter so I haven't been able to workout with my Dad, but he's been sending me his workout accountability pics, so yes, he's still killing it!

Upper Fix Extreme Workout - 21 Day Fix Extreme


I just finished the Insanity Max 30 Challenge and so I am currently doing HYBRID WORKOUTS and decided to try the Upper Fix Extreme from Autumn Calabrese's newest workout program, the 21 Day Fix Extreme.

The workout has you using a couple set of weights (one set of light weights, and another set of heavy weights), as well as a resistance band which is not included in the program unless you purchase the deluxe program. If you don't have resistance bands, you can get them here.

In my opinion, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but like anything, it's all in how hard you push yourself. This was my first time doing this workout, so I was simply trying to figure out what they were doing and making sure that I was doing the exercises correctly which is very important. I actually didn't even have a band with me at the time, so I substituted the band movements with a variety of pull ups. That's the one thing that I would say is a negative about the 21 Day Fix Extreme Program, there are no pull ups. When I begin my 21 Day Extreme Challenge, which I plan to very soon, I will most likely incorporate the pull ups into some of the band exercises.

There are two nutrition plans: the Extreme Nutrition Plan, and the Countdown to Competition Plan, I plan to do the latter which is really focused on carb depletion and helps get you super lean.


21 Day Fix Extreme - Watch Video!


Here are the movement list for Upper Fix Extreme:
Every movement is 1 minute starting with heavy weights, then finishing the last 30 seconds with light weights. Resistance Band movements are as described below. Rest in between each circuit and round. 

WARM UP

ROUND 1 (2X)
- Full Push Up to Half Push Up (30 sec Full, 30 sec Half)
- Wide Grip Lunge (30 sec heavy weight, 30 sec light weight)
- Chest Flys (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light) if you are at the gym, you can use a bench to get more full range of motion
- Band Lat Pull Down (30 sec single arm, 30 sec both arms) if you are at the gym, you can use the lat pull down machine

ROUND 2 (2X)
- Military Press (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)
- Twisted Abs (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)
- Post Delt Fly to Hold (30 sec fly, 30 sec hold)
- Dolphins (1 minute)

ROUND 3 
- Hammer Curls (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)
- Tricep Dips to Leg Up Dips (30 sec legs down, 15 sec right leg up, 15 sec left leg up)
- Isolated Curls Right Arm (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)
- Kickbacks (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)
- Hammer Curls (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)
- Tricep Dips to Leg Up Dips (30 sec legs down, 15 sec right leg up, 15 sec left leg up)
- Isolated Curls Left Arm (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)
- Kickbacks (30 sec heavy, 30 sec light)

COOL DOWN

I really like this workout because it works out the whole upper body. If you like pull ups, I would recommend doing a variety of different pull ups instead of the resistance band exercises. You can do one pull up variety the first 30 seconds, then switch to another pull up variety the last 30 seconds.

21 Day Fix - Cardio Fix (Dormitory Style)

Today I decided to stay in and do a quick cardio workout in my backpacker hostel. It was really tight, really hot, a lot of mosquitos, no A/C and only 2 fans that barely worked. So you ask, why would you stay in poor conditions like that, let alone even think about working out there? Well, let me tell you a little bit about me. I am a Full Time Beachbody Coach, I help people with their health, fitness, and financial goals. I am doing pretty good I might say, I mean, I can do what I want, travel where I want, and of course stay in FANCY hotels if I wanted to. My goal in life is to help people with accomplishing what they thought was once impossible, but during the process of helping people, I found other passions such as charity work and giving back to the global community. I have a blessed life, and although I do love nice things every now and again, I truly do not need them. I would much rather spend my money on adventure travel and donating to charity organizations. I also have a wonderful daughter that I am totally devoted too, so a lot of my income is there to provide for her education among other things =). Living the luxury life is not what I call doing what I was meant to do. I gain a lot more satisfaction when I can help a couple street kids get into a good shelter and offer them some education that can lead to a better life. I don't need to stay in a fancy hotel when the only time I will be there is when I sleep. I live a very active lifestyle. If I am not working out, volcano boarding, or mountain biking etc. I'm traveling and doing volunteer work. This is what I was meant to do, not sleep in a room that could feed thousands of homeless kids on the streets.

Don't get me wrong, I do love nice things, and I indulge every once in awhile, but I don't need it. My passion is helping people, and I will always do that as long as I am alive. Being a Beachbody Coach has opened so many avenues for me, and has given me the freedom to travel and do what I want with my life, so I cannot thank them enough. So before I get off track again, I decided to stay indoors and do a 21 Day Fix Cardio Fix Workout. It was like doing a 30 minute workout in a Sauna! =). I did get it done, and was happy to hit the COLD SHOWER right after. Below is just a little clip of my workout.
