Since starting to play with my Gopro that I bought from my brother back in 2011, I have amassed hours of video footage. Mostly from my travel adventures and races that I've shot around the world, I am slowly but surely creating my stock video footage collection on Storyblocks and various stock agencies.

Of course I will not be uploading all the footage that I have because a lot of footage has been purchased by companies that I've worked with, and I also have to respect the privacy of the many athletes and travelers that I have shot. I was nominated to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by my brother Tony from Las Vegas, so here is my video to show proof that I completed the challenge, and donated to the ALS Association.

I'm going to be honest, when I started seeing everyone, and their families dumping ice cold water on themselves all over the internet, I was like "is this even a real challenge, and for what?", I actually thought it was pretty silly, but as soon as I found out what it was all about, then I totally understood. It's the simple things like this that can make a huge impact, and although I was not a fan of pouring ICE COLD WATER over my head, I am now glad that I did because every person that watches my video, and shares it could make a huge difference.

I know that there may be more people who might not understand what the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is all about, or where it came from, so I just wanted to share this touching video about where it all started. Please watch the video below:

3 of the COOLEST Shakeology Recipes for the SUMMER!

I just left LAS VEGAS, and it was super hot! I arrived in Florida a few days ago, and it's HUMID HOT! So what do you do when you feel like you are right next to an erupting volcano? You blend up some Summer Shakeology recipes to cool you down, that's what you do! Or at least that's what I would do =).

These three recipes will keep you cool, fill you up with the best super food nutrients that your body craves, help you gain natural energy, and help you stay fit and healthy! If you're down for that, then what are you waiting for, start blending!

Grapefruit Delight, Kiwilicious, and Strawberry Lemonade
Summer Shakeology Recipes - Strawberry Lemonade, Kiwilicious, Exotic Grapefrui


Grapefruit Delight: (far left)
- 6 oz Grapefruit juice (fresh is best)
- 2 to 4 oz water (depending on your taste)
- 1 scoop Tropical Strawberry Shakeology
- 4 cubes ice
- Blend
- Grapefruit slice to get a fancy garnish!

The Kiwilicious: (middle)
- 1/2 scoop Tropical Shakeology
- 1/2 scoop Greenberry Shakeology
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup watermelon chunks
- 1 kiwi (peeled of course)
- ice to taste
- Blend away
- Kiwi garnish to show off to your friends =)

Strawberry Lemonade: (right)
- 1 serving Strawberry Shakeology
- 1 cup water or non-dairy milk
- 1 whole lemon (juiced)
- 1 tsp. pure maple syrup (yummy)
 For the best taste, use a blender and add some ice. The more ice, the thicker it will get. Feel free to use any kind of milk or milk substitute (almond, coconut milk, rice etc.) the more milk, the creamier it gets! Enjoy it to the fullest =)

P90X - Shoulders and Arms + Ab Ripper X

Today I decided to do some P90X - just straight up lifting because I got my butt handed to me last night with my Insanity Max Interval Circuit workout, I totally forgot how long that workout was (59 minutes!).

Tomorrow I will be leaving Tampa and won't be back again until sometime in August, so I had to make sure to get another workout in at Powerhouse Gym in downtown Tampa, which in my opinion, is the BEST gym ever! I ended up doing P90X Shoulders and Arms along with ARX (Ab Ripper X), one of my favorite workouts within the P90X Classic program. I remember doing P90X for the first time back in September of 2010, and it is still a BEAST workout, just like it was back then! Maybe that's why I am so addicted to this extreme program, because it continues to challenge me in more way then one.

So without further ado, let's get into the workout!

As always, make sure that you get your WARM UP in, if you are at the gym, you can get on the treadmill and do a light job, and some nice ballistic stretches just to get the body ready. The workout consists of 5 rounds of 3 exercises (3 exercises performed 2X).


First Round:
- Alternating Shoulder Press
- In and Out Bicep Curls
- Two-Arm Tricep Kickbacks

Right after my P90X Shoulders and Arms workout, I went straight into Ab Ripper X! As always, ARX always kicks my butt, I think my abs started cramping up LOL, at any rate, I finished strong!

I finished off with a quick cool down on a Spin Bike and cycled for about 10 minutes, and that was it, DONE! =) It's SHAKEOLOGY TIME!

P90X3 - MMX Workout

I did the P90X3 - MMX workout with my sister/law today, and it was pretty hilarious. We probably spent half the time trying to figure out the moves =). The second time around should definitely be much better! We did manage to break a pretty good sweat though, I was drenched!

The warm up consisted of some light cardio, and some nice little leg stretches.

The main workout consisted of 4 rounds. Each round consists of 4 exercises, with each exercise alternating from the right side for 30 seconds, then the left side for 30 seconds.

Round One:
- High Low Jab / Cross
- Hook / Uppercut / Front Knee
- Triple Jab / Cross / Back Knee
- Hook Elbow / Down Elbow

(The Power Knees were done while down in the Sprawl. While in plank, you brought the knee up the the chest and back twice on the same side before standing up.)

Overall, I would have to say that MMX is really not my type of workout, but this was considered my rest day, so anything is better than nothing right! =) The best part was working out with Brenda, and trust me, I still got in a good workout! My favorite exercise from the whole workout was the SPRAWLS!

Next time, I will be more familiar with the striking combinations, and I should be able to get a better workout from it! If you are into Martial Arts, Kick Boxing, Les Mills Combat etc, then you would probably really love this workout! =) And being that fact that I have done the P90X3 workouts, MMX is a real nice break from the X3 craziness!

Shakeology is Clinically Proven - What does that mean?

I attended the Beachbody Coach Summit at the MGM Grand Las Vegas (June 19-21, 2014), and one of the biggest announcements during that weekend was that their number one continuity product Shakeology (which I love so much) was now OFFICIALLY "clinically proven". So the question is, what does that actually mean, and does that really make a difference? "Clinically Proven" can be defined as clinically tested, but their isn't really a definition for it in wikipedia or any online source.

Some people are skeptical because there are plenty of companies who claim that their products are clinically proven. So rather than questioning the company who is making that claim, why not research the company who actually did the testing? Medicus Research was founded in 2005, and is a premier contract research organization (CRO) for natural health products. They did a study on 50 people which was under the direction of Medicus Founder and CEO Jay Udani. The company's areas of expertise include: Dietary supplements, functional foods, medical foods and botanical drugs. I tried to find anything about the company that would make me skeptical about their study on Shakeology, but I could not find anything that would prove Medicus Research to be non-credible. I did find a few complaints from study participants who claimed to receive delayed checks up to 3 months, but that's it.

To be honest, I think it's definitely nice to use a product that has been through some clinical trials, but being on Shakeology for almost 4 years, and feeling like I have as much, if not more energy than when I was in high school, I think it's fair to say that Shakeology works. I have coached hundreds of people through their fitness programs, and have seen hundreds of lives changed because of it. I also know that there will never be a product suited for everyone because of certain allergies and medical reasons, so it's always best to consult your physician before trying something new.

Body Beast Bulk Arms

Today's workout was Body Beast Bulk Arms. I really enjoy this workout because it focuses on the "glamor muscles". It's nothing but biceps and triceps for about 35 minutes, finishing off with a little ab work.

The only equipment that you need is a bench or stability ball, and some dumbbells (I enjoy using the Bowflex Selecttechs). Body Beast is basically a body-building program, but being an OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) athlete, I am not focused on bulking, rather I use the program to build strength, while being careful to not go too heavy. I actually go back and forth with P90X and Body Beast for my strength workouts. I also do most of my longer runs during my strength days, just to make sure that I get my cardio in.

The cool thing about Body Beast is that you can use it for almost any fitness goal whether you are interested in bulking, weight loss, athletic performance, etc. It's not all about lifting heavy with Body Beast, it's about finding the weight that works for you according to your fitness goal. But I'll be really honest with you, I actually like lifting, so I catch myself "upping" my weights sometimes, and that's ok for some people, but with my type of physique, I bulk really fast, and I found that it doesn't work well for me when I am trying to run for time during a Obstacle Course Race. Heck, I remember doing strictly Body Beast, with some running in between for about 2 months straight, and I tried to PR at a 10K Turkey Trot.....I was huffing and puffing on mile 3, and out of gas by mile 5. I missed my PR from last year by almost a minute. Simply put, I learned my lesson. Every one is different, and that's just me. I mean, I know a good handful of people who kill it in the OCR circuit, and they can kill some weights, so it all depends on you, and what you can handle.
