Mountain Biking UWF - Workout of the Day!

Changed up my workout today and did a 15 mile mountain bike ride with my bother Fermin and his friend John. "Back in the days", riding trails used to be my sport of choice, but that was like 8 years ago, and since then I've probably been on a mountain bike only a handful of times. BUT...after today, I plan to start riding more often, so I'm pretty excited about that.

We rode the UWF (University of West Florida) Off-Road Trails where I do a lot of trail running, but I'll have you know that biking the same trails with a steady pace with the Florida humidity proved to be a great challenge. The goal was to hit about 18-20 miles, but my leg started cramping at mile 12, so we decided to call it a day at 15 miles, "thanks guys" =). I'm looking forward to incorporating more mountain biking into my daily Beachbody Workouts, should be fun!

I would like to say that if it weren't for the Hammer and Chisel and P90X Workouts that I do, I would probably be in pretty bad shape as I am writing this, but I feel great! Drank my Chocolate Recovery drink and I'm ready for tomorrow's trail and bike workout.

LATE POST ALERT!!!

Don't you just get annoyed when you have computer issues =) So anyways, this was last night's workout which I was able to still get in late at night after a long day of traveling from Las Vegas to Pensacola, FL.


As soon as I arrived, I was taken by surprise when my daughter told me that she was also in town, so we were able to spend some time together along with my parents, brother, and sister and law. I didn't get my P90X workout done until after 10pm, and trust me, I was NOT feeling it, BUT I wasn't about to make an excuse because I've been slacking on my workouts for the past few months while I was traveling through Europe, so I had to make it happen guys! =)

I decided to do the P90X LIVE (via Beachbody on Demand), Round 15 workout which was Cardio and Core. It was a TABATA WORKOUT, 20 minutes in with 10 second break in between. It killed me late at night!!! Filipino Food and ABS

I KNOW...... not a really healthy combination, but really....it's all about what you eat. Just like any other cuisine out there, Filipino Food can be healthy and unhealthy. I grew up eating a lot of filipino foods (oh BTW, I'm a Filipino ha ha), and trust me, most of the time I didn't have the healthy kinds, but BELIEVE IT OR NOT, there are actually some healthy options out there too.

The one thing that I've learned is to moderate, eat less portions, and eat more vegetables. Being healthy and active doesn't have to be crazy strict. In my opinion, it's ok to enjoy the foods that you love just as long as you moderate and stay active. It can be tough sometimes, I mean, CHECK THIS OUT,  it took me a long time to switch from white rice to brown rice, it just didn't taste the same! Now I actually prefer brown rice, but I still consume white rice in moderation. 

The key is to set goals for yourself, and place those goals as TOP PRIORITY in your life. I've seen so many of my relatives suffer as they aged because they didn't eat healthy. If consuming MEDS for the rest of your life sounds good to you, then eat all you want, but I'll have you know that most of the chronic diseases out there could all be prevented if only people made better food choices.

I am no nutrition expert, but I've learned so much as a Beachbody Coach. It's not just about working out, it's more about what you put in your bodies, 80% to be almost exact! I believe in treating our bodies like our temple, because frankly, it's the only one that we'll ever get, might as well take care of it. Your health is the best investment you can make, without good health, you cannot work, pay bills, have fun, travel, spend time with family, and all of those are pretty important to me, and I'm sure that they may be high on the list for a lot of you. The LEG BURNER - T25 Lower Focus Workout

The LEG BURNER!

There is one workout day that I DREAD all the time, and that is LEG DAY! I would definitely say that my upper body is much stronger than my lower body, which is why lower body workouts are much more of a challenge for me, but I also understand that it's also the reason why I really need to focus on my weaknesses to build overall strength as an athlete. Embrace the SUCK right =)

Today's workout was T25 Lower Focus, and although there are no Crossfit snatches or weights involved, it is still very much a LEG BURNER. Crossfit athlete or not, this is a challenging workout for everyone! But hey guess what, there are also MODIFICATIONS too, so no excuses people =) 

After my workout, my family shared a little bit about what they like BEST about me, they're pretty amazing...my family =)

Well I had a very PRODUCTIVE day I would say! Woke up, created a TO DO LIST, hiked up one of my favorite places in Vegas, and spent time with my family. Oh, and I did Body Beast =)

One of the things that I love about Body Beast is that you can take the workouts anywhere like the gym or an outdoor park. I love working out at the gym, but sometimes I love the convenience of working out from home with my Beachbody on Demand.

So it's Sunday and to stay committed to doing a workout everyday until my 22 Minute Hard Corps Challenge begins, I decided to do the most difficult workout for me......YOGA! Ok, I know the benefits of yoga, and I admit that I dislike doing it, but I do it anyways. So here goes nothing people, wish me luck! =)

So I decided to do one of the Insanity LIVE workouts today from the Master Series on Beachbody on Demand. The workout is from the Insanity Round 13 Class and just wanted to let you know that it KICKED MY BUTT. I recently just came back from a 2+ month trip to Europe and unfortunately, I didn't workout as consistently as I normally do (it's ok to be HUMAN right), and trust me, I'm paying for it now ha ha!

I am currently just getting back into the game of working out every day until I start my 22 Minute Hard Corps Challenge, so if you want to join me on this online challenge, I still have some spots available, so hit me up, I need more accountability =)

My TOP 10 Tips for Handling Haters


Ever get a feeling that people "fake on you"? What I mean by this is that, they tell you how happy they are for you, they tell you that they saw your Facebook post, and tell you that it was awesome, "BUT didn't LIKE IT". They say that they are so happy with your successful career or your thriving business venture, but secretly wish that you would fail.

If you are getting this feeling, I just wanted to let you know that YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT, so keep doing it!

YOU cannot make everyone happy, and that should NOT  be your goal. As you begin building your career or business empire, this is something that we all go through. It's a VERY small obstacle compared to what is in store for you!

I wanted to share some of my tips that I've learned. These are the small things that have helped me move on with my ON-GOING journey to success, and I hope that it will help you with yours! =)

Top 10 Handling Hater Tips:

1.  Be happy that you are not the one hating =)

2.  Understand that people only hate if they want what you have, or they are just unhappy with their life.

3.  Hang out with other SUCCESS-DRIVEN people, this really makes a huge difference!

4.  Don't ever feel bad about sharing your happiness in public, if people are not happy for you, that's their own damn fault, not yours.

5.  Delete TOXIC PEOPLE from your Facebook and your friendship circle.

6.  Read or listen to Personal Development every dang day!

7.  Kill it with kindness! Understand that some people are just unfortunate and live a tough life, they don't know any better. The best way to deal with negativity is to either ignore it, smile, or surprise them by doing something nice for them. NEVER EVER add fuel to the fire and become negative, you're better than that =)

8.  Be consistent. Success is tough! Understand that every day is going to be an obstacle, but it's how you handle it that will make you better and better day in and day out.

9.  Help as many people as you can. Do volunteer work. Doing something positive for the community will be a constant reminder that you are doing something great, better yet, invite a HATER to volunteer with you, it may change their life.

10.  Always set higher goals, and NEVER stop dreaming =)

I am not going to take credit for this AMAZING article "The Brutal Truth About Those Pyramid Schemes" which was published by the Huffington Post, but I would like to put my TWO CENTS into one of the most misunderstood, but TOTALLY LEGIT businesses in the world.

Currently, I have been in the industry for almost 6 years now. I have seen plenty of people, many from my own team leave and/or quit this industry because they lacked the UNDERSTANDING of:

- How long it takes to be successful
- What it really takes to make it
- Why most people do not have the knowledge of how this industry works
- Why it's not about selling
- Why it's not important about what people think about you
- How this can be a blessing in their own life if they just DON'T QUIT

Here's the thing, I've been in this industry for awhile now, and just like most people, I have thought about QUITTING plenty of times. But if you understand that this is what AVERAGE PEOPLE do, then you will hopefully tell yourself that YOU ARE NOT AVERAGE, and do whatever it takes to make it work for you and your family. 

The well-written article that I am sharing with you was published by the Huffington Post, and really talks about the REAL TRUTH and the purpose of what this industry is all about, and why everyone is so intrigued by the opportunity.

Choosing a Beachbody Coach for Success

Choosing a Beachbody Coach for Success, Change your Beachbody Coach, Become a Beachbody Coach, Finding a Beachbody Coach

Some of you reading this post may not know that you can actually choose your Beachbody Coach. Here's the thing, depending on if you have purchased a Beachbody Fitness Program from an infomercial, random Google link, or the official Beachbody or Team Beachbody website, you were probably assigned a coach and you didn't even know it.

BUT the cool thing is that you can request a coach change if you feel that you do not connect with your current coach. Now I do NOT condone this, and it's always best to message your coach before you make a decision to make a coach change, but in all reality, it's YOUR CHOICE.


What if I don't have a Coach, how do I choose the BEST Coach for me? That's what this blog post is all about my friendsters! =)

I'm going to categorize this topic into two parts: Choosing a Beachbody Coach for health and fitness, and the second, choosing a Beachbody Coach for business. I'll break each part into 3 things to look for. Whether you need a coach for health/fitness or business goals, in my opinion, it's ideal to connect with the right Coach based on relatability. As a Beachbody Coach trying to build a business, it really isn't all that important, but it can have some great advantages.


Choosing a Beachbody Coach for Health and Fitness Goals:

1.  Product of the Product - I would honestly look to see if the Coach that you are interested in has either completed the fitness program that you are interested in, or is currently doing the program. Also, is the coach actually using the products, or are they just posting sales and promotions?

2.  Relatability - Do you relate with his/her personality. Are you inspired by their story and/or transformation. Would you hang out with this Coach outside of working out? Do you feel comfortable talking and sharing your goals with this coach?

3.  Consistency - This is pretty similar to the 1st part, but are they consistent with their motivational and inspirational gestures. I would think twice if you see a Facebook post on working out, then a couple hours later, you see another post from a bar. Being human is ok, but in order to ensure that this person is focused on your goals, I would also make sure that they are confident with their own goals as well.

Choosing a Coach to help you with your health and fitness is just as important as HOW BAD you want to achieve your goals, so I encourage you to choose wisely =)

Choosing a Beachbody Coach for Business:

1.  Product of the Product - Just like above, choosing a Coach who is using Beachbody Fitness and Nutrition is pretty darn important. It's like going to a restaurant and asking the owner of the business, "what do you recommend" and them saying I don't know, I haven't tried it.  Having a Coach who is proof that the product works will give you a better understanding of what it really takes to be successful in the business.

2.  Relatability - For me, relating to someone is the key to success. If you feel intimidated, uncomfortable, or anything along those lines, this will unfortunately deter you from having the success that you truly deserve, but then again, as a Beachbody Coach, you are totally independent so even if for some reason you dislike your Coach, you can still succeed with the systems that the company Beachbody has in place. But having a Coach that you can relate to is definitely an added bonus!

3.  Lifestyle - This is definitely not as important as the first two, because the coach that you relate to, who is also a "product of the product" may also be trying to succeed as a Beachbody Coach and still "learning the ropes". But let's say that the Coach that you are interested in is pretty successful, or seems to run a thriving coaching business, ask yourself these questions: "Is he/she living the life that I would like to live? Does he/she live a life of integrity?

Here's an example of LIFESTYLE. There are some Beachbody Coaches out there who seem like they place "materialism" up there with oxygen. They drive nice cars, wear fancy clothes and jewelry, and they may seem that appearance is everything. Now there is nothing wrong with that, because they can do anything they want because they worked hard for that, and it's their life. If you see yourself living that life, then by all means, gravitate towards a coach who lives that life because they can show you exactly how they did it.

And then there are other Coaches who are very successful, but do not get into the material things. They choose to focus on humanitarian and charitable projects. They live minimalist lifestyles, and sometimes give away a lot of their hard-earned income to the less fortunate. They may look like they are average Coaches, but trust me, they are anything but average, it's just that their priorities are a little different.

Oh, and there can also be an IN-BETWEEN. There are plenty of coaches who live simple lives, but also dive into the luxuries of life when they see fit. Now that's the life =).

So, I hope this helps you choose the BEST Beachbody Coach for you and your goals. Beachbody is a lifestyle in itself. The culture does not discriminate, it is open to anyone who is ready for a physical, mental, and financial change. You wanna know the SECRET SAUCE eh? You want to find out how some Coaches make millions, travel the world, have freedom with their families, or just DO WHAT THEY WANT, when they want.

I wanted to keep it simple for you. It doesn't matter if you currently are a coach, or if you are about to DIVE IN and begin your journey as an Entrepreneur, the TOP 5 points below will help you understand that it takes GRIT to not just be AWESOME, but if you use this in all aspects in your life, you will be SUCCESSFUL.

TOP 5 WAYS TO SUCCEED AS A BEACHBODY COACH:

1.  BELIEF

Let's start with belief. Like anything in life, if you don't believe that you have what it takes, then quite honestly, you won't succeed. Trust yourself, believe that you can, be a product of the product, and learn as much as you can, and it will happen organically.

2.  COACHABLE (teachable)

Are you a "know it all"? Do you have "status"? Are you open or close-minded? I hate to break it to ya, but if you are not open to learning, you will be up for a rude-awakening! With Beachbody Coaching, it's like buying into an already successful franchise. There are success systems in place to help you, and all you have to do is follow it and be persistent. Learn how to use these systems and incorporate your own personality and branding into it, and BIG THINGS will happen.

3.  PATIENCE

Great things happen to people who wait! If you think that you will be an OVERNIGHT SUCCESS in this business, or any business for that matter, then you will be very upset. "LEGAL" businesses take time =) It takes an average of 2-5 years for any business to get a return on investment and begin seeing profits.

- It took time for you to learn how to walk.
- It took time for you to earn your college degree.
- It took time for you to achieve your fitness goals.
- It took time for you to build a relationship with your spouse.

AND so it will TAKE TIME to build a business. The key is to have fun with what you are doing, help tons of people along the way, learn as much as you can, and TRUST ME, before you know it, you will be marking off the things on your bucket list!

4.  GIVING

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone, and all they talked about was "themselves"? Yeah, me too! =) One of the most basic things to learn about success as a Beachbody Coach is to listen to people, focus on their goals (not yours), be more willing to help them regardless if they buy from you or not. It's simple, "people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care".

5.  GOALS

The bigger your dreams, the more driven you will be to succeed. Did you know that people who wrote down their goals were 42% more likely to achieve them then the ones who didn't. I was traveling through Europe working on my cause-related OCRTUBE.com media project when I heard the news about the Beachbody Performance Line being named the sports nutrition supplement of the IRONMAN North American Series.

So what does this actually mean right? I know it sounds amazing, and everyone knows what IRONMAN is all about, but is this really a big deal?

Well, the company Beachbody is one of the world's leading providers of extreme fitness programs and nutrition products, the company announced on May 19th, 2016 that they have signed an agreement for their Beachbody Performance Line to become the Official Sports Nutrition Supplement of the IRONMAN North American Series in the beginning of 2016.

I'm sure that there is a huge decision that had to be made by the IRONMAN organization to ensure the integrity and reputation for the prestigious endurance race series, and for me, that's huge for Beachbody, and it says a lot about the quality of the nutrition line.

Just to let you know, the Beachbody Performance Nutrition Line was developed by Harvard-trained scientists led by Nima Alamdari, PhD, who is an exercise physiology and nutrition scientist and Beachbody's Executive Director of Scientific Affairs, I know...sounds important ha ha =)

RembrandtPark - Outdoor Gym in Amsterdam

I spent almost two weeks in Amsterdam, and although I really love the vibe of the city, I also missed some beautiful nature and just the smell of fresh air. I needed to find a FREE outdoor gym in Amsterdam!

Every time I visit a city, I try to look for places to workout, and being the person that I am, I always look for outdoor gyms. When you need to find something, what do you do? You GOOGLE it, and that's how I found Rembrandt Park.


There were a few gyms near the city center, but again, I was trying to leave the city center, so Rembrandt Park was right up my alley. It took me about 50 minutes to walk there which I figured that would be my warm up or cardio portion of my workout. I also ran there and back on another day. The distance from Amsterdam Central Station to RembrandtPark was about 5K.

The outdoor gym facility was unique from some of the other park gyms that I've been too. Some park gyms do not have actual weights, and only provide calesthenic equipment such as dip bars, pull up bars etc. The most well-equipped outdoor gym park that I've been to was an outdoor gym park in Bangkok Thailand, you can check out my post on that here.

Here is a quick list of the workout equipment that Rembrandt Park provided:
- Bench with weights
- Dip Station
- Bicep Arm Curl Station with weights
- Pull Up Bar
- Lat Station for back workout with weights
- Chest Machine for Chest Flys with weights
- Ab Machine for Core Leg Lifts
- Sit-Up Station
- Leg Machine for sit down leg lifts with weights
And of course miles of trails for running, walking and biking.

I visited this park a couple times and each time I was there, I did a full body circuit incorporating all of the equipment, and I did 3 rounds. As I am writing this, I am still a bit sore =) Finished both workouts with my Shakeology which I take along with me on my travels.

Outdoor Park Gym at Pildademmsparken - Malmo, Sweden

When I travel, I enjoy looking for places to do my workouts. Sometimes I will do my P90X workout in the room that I am staying in for a few days, sometimes I will go to a hotel gym, and sometimes I will go to a local gym and suck it up and pay a day pass fee. But when there is a FREE outdoor park that provides an outdoor gym, then that is what I prefer the most.

I stumbled on this place in Malmo while I was biking and exploring the city. It's called Pildademmsparken, and the park in general is huge. If I didn't look around hard enough, I would not have found it, and frankly I wasn't even expecting it.

The outdoor gym was not fully equipped, but it had a lot of things that you don't normally see at a park where I am from in the USA. The outdoor gym did not have free weights like the place in Bangkok, Thailand (check out the outdoor gym park in Bangkok here), but it had a multi-purpose rack where you could do curls, squats, upright rows, shoulder presses etc.

Here is a quick list of they had:
- 3 Multi-Purpose Racks with designated weights already attached to a bar (squats, shoulder press, curls, dead lifts,
- 4 Shoulder Press Machines at different difficulty levels for doing stand up Military Presses
- 2 Core Machine for abs
- 3 Pull Up bars for pull ups, muscle ups, toe to bar etc.
- 3 permanent concrete boxes (different heights) for box jumps, step ups, or even decline push ups
- 1 set of Battle Ropes
- 1 Rope Climb set up with no knots
- 1 designated area for push ups, sit ups, planks, or burpees (circular concrete patio)
- Small hill for sprints or even bear crawls, maybe even weight carries if you bring some along such as sand bags, jerry cans etc.
- Park is ideal for running just like most parks, there are paved and also single tracks along the edges of the park.

And that's pretty much it. You can get a little creative and do some really intense circuits. If you've been to this outdoor gym, please comment below and tell me how you liked it!

Working at Coffee Shops Around the World

I wanted to write this post because I've worked at many coffee shops around the world. For me, there are advantages and disadvantages with this, and I just wanted to nail down some of those things and maybe get some opinions from some of you.

As an Online Beachbody Coach and Digital Nomad Traveler, one of the most amazing benefits is that having your own online business allows you to work from home, and I absolutely love that, but at the same time, just being around a social landscape helps me connect better with my productivity. Let me explain:

I GET BORED AT HOME SOMETIMES! Anyone relate?

So what do I do? I head over to a nearby coffee shop and do some work. Now if I am traveling for an extended period of time, I tend to work at coffee shops more than usual. I do this because these hubs sometimes have a stronger internet signal than some of the places where I sleep.

So let's go over some advantages and disadvantages:

The BIG "A" - Advantages:
- Better signal (sometimes, especially when traveling in remote places)
- People interaction and watching (it's not Walmart, but it's a human thing)
- Good coffee (sometimes)
- Great for social and business one on one meetings
- I tend to be more PRODUCTIVE. What I mean is that if I am at home, and I get lazy, I will plop myself on the couch and take a nap. I can't do that at a coffee shop =)

The BIG "D" - Disadvantages:
- No Privacy
- Not ideal for conference calls (unless you want to be a butt-hole and be that rude guy)
- You have to spend money, while if you are at home, you eat for free (unless you bring your Shakeology with you of course)
- You have to drive or walk to get there (while at home, you can walk over to your desk in a few seconds, all while you are still in your PJ's)

I've been to some pretty cool places around the world, and I think that's part of the whole experience as an Online Entrepreneur, to see new places and be able to work and meet other people along the way. I haven't met too many people around the world at coffee shops, but when I do meet other entrepreneurs, we tend to gravitate and meet each other to do some work, it's a pretty cool culture.

Another great option that offers a bit more of the professional business experience is finding "work spaces", this is where you can rent office or common space daily, monthly, or longer depending on your project or goal. The vibe is not as chill as a coffee shop (more quiet though), but the work spaces tend to offer more services such as printing and video conference rooms.

How to deal with NEGATIVITY as a Beachbody Coach

I guess this post could also relate with any life obstacles, but being that I am a Beachbody Coach, I wanted to throw my TWO CENTS in and share some of the things that I have done to get through the negativity of what people say about Beachbody Coaching.

-  IT'S A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM: This one used to get me all the time because I always knew that there were actual "pyramid scams" out there, but I also knew that the business model of "Network Marketing" and Multi-Level Marketing" was totally legit. The reason why people are negative about the whole idea is because they do not understand the difference between the two, and for the most part, these people are not open-minded enough to try to understand, which in turn...they will never "get it". They also may have retrieved some negative and falsified information from a family member or a friend who was in the business of MLM, but unfortunately quit <---- AND did not succeed. Try getting the facts from someone who is making it happen "succeeding and not quitting", there's a huge difference.

My suggestion is to find out if they are open enough to get educated on the topic, and if they aren't, I suggest that you ignore the negativity because it would be just a waste of time.

I travel all over the world, thanks to the freedom of my Beachbody "Network Marketing" business. I've been an online Beachbody Coach for almost 6 years now, so if someone tries to "bad-mouth" me or what I do, then I just smile to myself because I am the one sitting pretty in Sweden right now with no return ticket while some of these "negatives" are working miserably under a boss. If people really want TRUE freedom, then becoming an entrepreneur is the only way to do it, and "network marketing" is the best LEGIT ticket to freedom without investing thousands.

-  RESPECT:  Everyone deserves respect. It is a bit annoying when people talk about things that they know nothing about, but that's what the population does, and hey, I'm even guilty of doing it, so I totally understand when people do it.

Let's face it, in the Beachbody Coaching and "Network Marketing" industry. There will be coaches and newbie entrepreneurs who will make the industry look bad. I don't think that it's intentional, but it happens. This happens in every sector of business though. Just look at where you work, I'm sure that someone in your company/job have been fired. And some of these people begin to bad-mouth the company because they didn't feel that it was right for them to get FIRED. But let's be honest, people get fired because they aren't fit for the company or image. Some people will never "get it", and when they don't, they do what humans do, they talk negative.

Respect is all about being happy for someone no matter what they do for a living. Beachbody Coaching is about being in business for yourself while helping others get healthy and fit, what's there not to respect about that? I mean, I don't go around talking about how crappy your company or job is, so it's really not nice for anyone to be negative about being a Beachbody Coach/Entrepreneur.

If someone is disrespectful to you about what you do as a Beachbody Coach, just simply ignore them (it's a waste of time to try to defend yourself when these people just don't care), because if they are disrespecting you, then that only shows the type of person they are, and trust me, you don't need those toxic people in your life. Hit that DELETE button.

"Be respectful of what people do for a living, even if you don't understand what they do"

In closing, Beachbody Coaching and the network marketing industry is a billion dollar business. It can only reach those numbers when people are finding success and lives are truly being changed. Bottom line is, we must be doing something right! So remember this....when something is going right, there will always be someone who will say something about it, so keep doing what you're doing =). #CoachesChangeLives
